Columbia River Salmon fishing is without a question the biggest angling attraction on the Columbia River. The low population is being blamed on the collapse of the Sacramento River run, one of the biggest south of the Columbia. The Lake Wenatchee sockeye run – the second largest of the Columbia River sockeye component – is 39,400 (18,300 was forecasted in 2019 with an actual return of 7,900). This gives us fishing opportunities for a nice stretch of river from just above the Cowlitz River to just below Bonneville Dam.
